Oakland Getting its First Luxury Residential Development in Decades
Originally published Pittsburgh Magazine | July 27, 2020
For the first time in decades, a new, luxury residential development is underway in Oakland.
Burrow Street Townhouses, located on Burrows Street, are under construction now with occupancy tentatively set for the end of the year.
University of Pennsylvania alum and lecturer Brian Phillips of Interface Studio Architects, a Philadelphia-based architecture and design studio, designed the architecture and urban exterior style while James Mohn Design created the interiors. These are ISA and John Mohn Design’s first projects in Pittsburgh.
George Hackett, president of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services in Pittsburgh, which is marketing the development, extolled the neighborhood’s proximity to Downtown, as well as to the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC facilities.
“It celebrates the city’s heritage and is designed to appeal to a whole new generation of buyers,” he says in a press release. “We’re excited to offer the chance to live in brand new and beautifully designed modern homes in an area where that simply hasn’t been possible.”
